Worth it/skip it? Skip it. Repetitive and very formulaic. Below is my review of Do Not Enter (2026) movie review
What a waste of a movie. There is nothing even slightly original about this movie. You got a group of urban explorers who after their latest adventure decide to explore an abandoned hotel. This building, of course, is haunted. Color me shocked. SHOCKED I tells ya. With promises of what is rumored to still be there the group embarks on an adventure to see what they can find. They also want more Youtube views if that matters.
Each one of these characters are annoying as hell. You got a girl who does yoga constantly to a guy that is motivated by only money. Actually, I take that back. The characters are all one dimensional and annoying. This is a 100 min movie and they get to hotel around the 30 to 40 min mark. When they do I kid you not the movie becomes so dark that I can’t see anything. We were in a completely dark room and could not see anything. It’s like the director wanted us to see vague shapes and imagine what they are doing. I know horror movies tend to be dark but we need to be able to see something. Watching what seems to be two dark trash cans tussling is not fun.
Anyway, one of the first things that happened is the group sees a bloody scratch in the hotel that one of them comments it could be a shadow or something equally dumb. Really??? Ok. Sure.
As far as atmosphere is concerned, when we can see anything, it is very creepy. Again it is not fun to see shadows dancing around and call that a good movie. This is also one of the reasons where violence is very subdued. If you can see it it is off the screen so you don’t get to see much. That is a big complaint I found online. The actual movie had a lot of potential but nothing of importance happened in it.
As for the creature or whatever is called, there is nothing unique about it. Actually, I take that back. Some of the shots of it running on all fours can be classified as creepy. Other than that he is a lanky and very pale human figure with sharp teeth. We have seen these types of creatures a lot so in here it comes off as lazy and forgettable. It just seems like the way they came up with the creature is by covering it with white powder and make the guy walk a bit odd. Oh, and he is tall…I guess. If you consider 6 foot 5 inches tall.
Overall the movie is boring, repetitive, dark as all hell, and not very interesting at all. It has some really boring characters that don’t do much. Also, and this is a minor spoiler, but how the hell does a human survive a 50 foot jump haha.
